So here's the thing--YouTube is MASSIVELY increasing their requirements for monetization on their platform--doubling it, actually. I've been intending to get into longform content creation for quite a while now, but never actually making the leap--but if you hit the current threshhold (4,000 watch hours) before the new requirements kick in in February, you're grandfathered in for 2027. So, we're doing it. We're locking in. We're making the dang content. I currently have a fishing vlog in the works (because why not?), and also, of course, a reading vlog planned for next week (how does 7 books in 7 days sound?), BUT, I also am going to be re-posting my old Bindery Exclusive videos publicly! That's what this is--so if you were a paid subscriber circa early/mid 2025, this may look familiar to you, but if you weren't, I guess you can count this a bit of a peek behind the scenes?
I also intend to do weekly reading sprint livestreams! I just haven't quite settled on what day of the week they'll be (probably a weeknight, early in the week... Monday or Tuesday? Lmk if one is better for y'all!). I'm hoping this'll be good motivation to get me into the swing of regularly filming and posting longform content, and that that'll carry on through 2027, even if I don't make the monetization minimum (which... let's be real. It's a long shot. I'm currently at 21 watch hours lol).
Anyway--this was a lot of rambling, stream of consciousness, word vomit, but thanks for sticking with me, and wish me luck! Hope y'all enjoy the new type of content :)
