You can enjoy books that do not hold up under critical engagement! You can like and have fun with bad books! I like plenty of bad books! But if you turn off your brain and don’t even NOTICE the implications (intentional or otherwise) of the politics and social constructs of a book you are doing yourself a great disservice

It is okay to like a book or series that doesn’t handle everything perfectly! It’s when you cover your ears and go lalala and refuse to even acknowledge those things that we have a problem.
